Pigeon Post

I was lucky enough to be involved in this short film starring Derek Fowlds, Diana Hoddinott and Peter Benson, directed by Stewart Mackay. My role was primarily props & costume, however, following my extensive green screen work in a BFVS production, there was one shot that needed compositing.

The front plate was shot in an old barn in with a green screen placed outside behind the window. The shot was to show the main character looking out the window at his wife. The back plate was shot about 5 miles away!

The light coming through the window meant that some of the dirt and dust was not keyed out (normally a problem), but helps sell the shot. The short video shows the final shot, and the original green screen rush.

I also had a minor role as an extra (soldier in the back of a world war II transporter), but my trusty old Vauxhall Vectra ended up out acting me as the ‘taxi’ driven by Peter Benson.
